Aon is a leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement, and health solutions, as well as consulting and outsourcing in human capital management. The global corporation is based in 120 countries. We had the opportunity to work with Aon when they were looking for an agency-partner that could handle full-service employer branding operations for their Polish branch. Funktional was entrusted with permanent cooperation, receiving many various marketing projects throughout the year and supplying Aon with technological assistance. 

As part of our tasks for the client, we were asked to create a new website specifically designed for recruitment in Poland. Our aim was to design a dynamic website that would make it easy for applicants to find and apply for the positions matching their individual qualifications. Furthermore, we wanted to highlight all of the great initiatives that the company has done to make Aon a top place to work.

Seeing as Aon is present in so many marketplaces worldwide, we knew that we had to preserve their brand identity and consistency across all materials that we created. At the same time however, we also needed to distinguish the Polish branch from competitors and adapt it to the local market.

Creative and fresh perspective

Before beginning our work on the new career website, we conducted a comprehensive UX audit of the old page. Our conclusions from the audit allowed us to implement changes that would improve the user experience and generate more leads. The new website that we designed was refreshed to be more in line with modern trends. It also highlights the many benefits of working at Aon and the earnest care the company places on the well-being of employees.

An easy and clear User Experience

The goal for the new website was to encourage and direct potential applicants to job offers. We wanted individual users to quickly find job opportunities that fit their specific experience. As a result, we simplified the user flow, developing tags related to location and specific job categories that makes it effortless for candidates to apply to open positions they are qualified for.

Thinking Ahead

Always future-oriented, we prepared the site in such a way that makes it easily able to be modified internally within the company. Thanks to this, if our partner would like to add another location or section to the site, they are able to update the feature without having to turn to developers or having to once again reconstruct the entire system.

Another one of our projects for Aon was to prepare a newsletter generator for the HR department within Aon. Previously, an HR employee had to spend hours individually organizing and categorizing job opportunities from all around the world to select those relevant to their particular branch location.

To solve this laborious process, we created a simple online system based on uploading data files and selecting a chosen category, after which a newsletter is generated automatically. Our tool shortened the entire newsletter generating process to four minutes, saving time and costs and eliminating human error.

An increase of applicants

Thanks to our carefully thought out UX / UI solutions, graphic designs and communication strategy, we were successful in creating a website and other marketing materials that strongly raised awareness of great career opportunities at Aon and caught the consumer’s attention. Besides the engaging new website and convenient newsletter generator, we also designed tram wrapping for a local tram which helped increase recognition about career opportunities at Aon.

We were successful in positioning Aon as a forward thinking company where employees can expand their knowledge and grow their skills whilst feeling totally supported along the way. We highlighted the caring nature of this company not only digitally, but also using outdoor advertising through the tram wrapping.

Our work achieved the aim of presenting the Polish branch as a clear part of the global Aon family, while adapting to the needs and expectations of the local market. We have optimized the costs for our client, delivering results that eliminate human error and save time. We remain in constant cooperation with our partner, continuing to support brand and business goals and maintaining technological assistance.
